O.k done that, re-set the time and date in the Bios, after putting CMOS battery back in.....still the same......no battery detected.....

Thanks for that......I have done that APART from removing the CMOS battery.......just about to try it.......

Hi, I have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro C850, that I am trying to revive after about 3 years of inaction.......obviously the battery is dead.......here's the scenario......battery in place, power chord, which is working, plugged in, won't switch on.....remove battery, power chord still plugged...
