Has anyone else ever had a split screen on a Recoil 17"? It's not a software issue as it is split even in the BIOS screen.
PCS are arranging for an RMA under warranty but it would be interesting to know if this was a one off fault (they think it is a faulty screen) or has happened before...
Mike, what is your spec for your laptop. I may be senile as I cannot see your spec anywhere. The model will make a huge difference as will the use of your laptop. Is it a full desktop replacement, a portable "desktop" or a laptop for use on the go?
If you can afford it and serioulsy want a laptop as a desktop replacement, go for the 17" Recoil with the 300 Hz display and a full blown processor rather than a cut down wannaba. You also get the option to have four M2 memory cards.

Regardless of manufacturer, I would never buy a "thin" laptop, you simply do not have good enough air circulation. Yes the compents are designed to run hot but why chance it.
I bought the 17" Recoil (£3K+) complete with 3 years warranty which was a bargain at the price for peace of...
@ Stephen M...Just to add.
Anti vacinners love using warped statistics so here is a real one. As a percentage you are less liable to have a blood clot if you take the vaccine than those who do not take the vaccine.
Blood clots are part of everyday issues with health yet nay sayers (and that...
As this model with the 1 mtr power cords is unsuitable for your wife, then obviously you would not buy it. The fact that they are this l;ength does not deter the majority of people who are looking for a laptop with this spec. I doubt any sales are lost because of this.
Taking into consideration...
Ignorance has so much to do with the spreading of this disease. We all know that wearing a mask does not stop you catching covid, it helps prevent those who have it from spreading it by coughing or sneezing. In Hull at one of the ASDA branches, hardly any young staff wear masks and are stacking...
I just cannot understand anyone who refuses to have the vaccination on grounds other than health. If I were to catch covid, it would be a death sentence. Due to chemo etc, I have a very poor immune system yet there are people around who would rather party and spread covid than realise how many...
However, the potential long term effects of covid are well known.
extreme tiredness (fatigue)
shortness of breath
chest pain or tightness
problems with memory and concentration ("brain fog")
difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
heart palpitations
dizziness
pins and needles
joint pain
depression and...
Been looking at a Macbook pro as a portable laptop for my grandson so if I go ahead I will give you a heads up and we can split the savings you make.....(y)
Regarding lottery. I have been in this damned thing since it started. I spend about £100 per month and the most I have ever won is £9.60...
I must admit that I look at the depth of a laptop. It makes sense that the more airflow inside, the cooler the laptop will be. The thickness of these new laptops scares me. <20 mm, really? The components must be almost touching the case.
I have what is known as a negative investment gene. When I invest in anything, the next day it crashes. Same with buying anything. I recently purchased a top end Recoil and two days later the price came down. So if anyone wants to save money, just wait for me to purchase it and I guarantee...
Just measured my Acer and my nieces HP. Both are 1 mtr long. I don't see any problem here, just use an extension cord and place the psu near the laptop.
