Very. I tried DVI->VGA (not realising I didn’t have VGA output on the laptop so bought a connector). Still nothing. Neither automatically nor after Fn+F7. I’ll give the cable +/- screen replacement ago before calling it quits.

Thanks for your response. HDMI cable. Correct input on monitor (I cycled through inputs to double check). I pressed what I think is the correct keyboard combo. I plan to find a VGA cable to double check. Nothing. No splash screen. No start up screen. The lights all seem to work correctly...

It’s done well although TBH it was used daily for six years and the last four it’s been more infrequent and I haven’t used it for gaming in those four years. These days I use it for lightroom processing as my most intensive work.

I did some logging whilst working today. Artefacts appeared and laptop shut down once GPU temp hit 60°C. Let it cool down, restarted and was fine on battery power alone - GPU temp remained 50°C and no artefacts. Plugged in the AC adaptor and started doing more intensive work (nothing special...

No overclocking. Strangely windows decided to do an automatic repair and the problem resolved so far. I guess I’d best start looking at replacement laptops soon. Doubt the GPU would be replaceable.

So the wire coming out of the adaptor is now starting to fray and spark, which means the adaptor is buggered. Looking at my Vortex II, I need a 220W AC Adapter. If I go into my account and then into "my spare parts", it's out of stock. The closest I can see on the other laptops on the website...
