If you are fairly sure it is coming from the PSU, might be worth shining a torch into the rear PSU grill to see if you can see anything moving in sync with the knocking noise. Of course, keep a distance from the PSU.

Several people, who also have the Tenda W322e wifi card and couldn't enable WiFi either, managed to resolve the issue by downloading the drivers for a Lenovo wifi card, which happens to use the same chipset as the Tenda wifi card.

In Device Manager, find the WiFi adapter, right click and select Properties. In the window that pops up, is there a power management tab? If so, can you deselect the option to allow Windows to turn off the device?
