I used to have two monitors on my desk, using a Duronic DM352 dual arm. Now, having bought a new 27in gaming monitor, I bought an 80cm extension and raised the two sufficiently to fit the new monitor underneath, and to the right, leaving enough space on the left for my laptop.

I would suggest using one of these for your monitor: I own several and I'm very happy with them.
