Ok I moved the cable on the motherboard to the slot next to where it was before - and the drive has appeared now! :) Not sure what difference that makes but if it works it works

So the left hand cable is going to the power unit - I plugged it into the bottom left one available where it said SATA PERIPHERALS I believe. The cable to the right is going to the motherboard (pics attached)

Its from my old PC so still has some of my stuff on it - Game Mods etc

Thanks thats helped - have managed to take the power unit out and plug the cable in. Just need to work out how to get into BIOS and get it to recognise the HDD now - tried del and F12 as its booting up - has that changed in the last 15 years? :)
