Hello
As the title say I own the Ionico 17' 10th gen (10875H) laptop since march 2021. I've configured it with the 1440p 165Hz screen, 32 GB of RAM, and an RTX 3070.
After about 1,5 year of daily usage for various task I can put this little review. My daily OS is Linux Mint.
First I used...
@trickyrickyg83 Yeah I'm happy to know that you managed to get acceptable results :)
In short the game don't use all the core available in the cpu, so the cpu don't need a lot of watts to run the game workload at a nice frequency. If you try same scenario with a cpu benchmark that use all the...
I don't know AMD cpu so you will have to try it yourself or maybe someone could help you to set the good values for SPL, SPPT and fPPT to limit the CPU to 25W. As long as you don't go over the default value I guess you are safe to try differents values for those sliders by yourself.
First I...
When playing I usually set the cpu to 25W and the whole things stay well under 80°C (cpu+gpu). Today with ambiant temperature around 19°C playing RE8 maxed out give me a constant 72/76°C. The GPU is allowed to pump 125W + 10W of dynamic boost. I know we don't have the same CPU (intel vs amd)...
@Eldavo Yes ThrottleStop don't wake the service (it is a 32bits executable, and it's nice since we use it to undervolt). I guess that any game (not only cuphead) will wake the service and once the service is running you have no choice appart to kill it manually (kill the 64 bits version from the...
@Eldavo Don't use any external monitor while on battery, and use only the 32 bits version of HWMonitor, CPU-Z or whatever monitoring program to keep gcuservice away from your GPU.
The better, turn off your computer, and start it (on battery). Then try to check what make gcuservice to start by...
With lowest settings @1080p and no anti aliasing (I play on external screen native 1080p) I achieve 160-200+ fps and a graphic latency of 4-6ms wich is also great... ;) :)
Also very important when you are on battery you want to check if "gcuservice.exe" is running on the nvidia GPU (you can display an icon in the task bar via the nvidia control panel), if it does: kill it!
HWMonitor.exe and GPU-Z (the both 64bits version) wake gcuservice.exe and run it on the...
It works once the Control Center start after windows. But if you use linux, you are screwed and can't turn it off via the BIOS.
For the EDID, yes I have tried everything. From custom modelines in xrandr and Xorg config, i915 modules parameters (minus recompiling the i915 module with some old...
Turn off the light bar in the BIOS and she will be "on" on boot. Turn off the keyboard, and it will be off at boot, as expected. That's the bug.
The dGPU is a minor issue to me (but welcome feature for my linux usage as it can be a workaround for the intel module not yet ready to manage the...
I asked for drivers to be available in my download section too. I got as answer telling me that he (writer of the answer, from pcs) verified and they are available.... so I wrote again but with a screenshot showing that nothing is available.... The message in the download page saying that no...
Your CPU turbo is locked to 1.75Ghz in this one. In your first benchmark your cpu turbo is locked to 2Ghz. Even with a windows with no drivers the CPU is not locked like that. Maybe check the windows power settings and all.
Otherwise you can restart from the begining and check when the lock...
Ok so I had to do it...
-75Mv, PL1+2 at 120W, PL4 at 160W, Dynamic boost + 15W, max fan on: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/59413610? (22444 Pts)
dGPU Only Off (Hybrid ON aka Optimus) But I ran it on an external monitor at 1080p.
edit: The same test only with the integrated panel...
Your bench result report hight usage CPU in background. Also did you use dGPU only ? Because the bench did not report any Intel GPU while mine show it (MSHybrid mode). Can't help much more sadly.
While I'm happy with the laptop (build quality and hardware), I'm disapointed by the over locked bios (it is way more than other famous and unfamous brands) and lack of official communication from pcspecialists and also no driver yet not even the control center in the download section (Seriously...
It is the control center that you should receive from PCS if you ask them by email. It's not the same that is preinstalled on the test windows (who is the 2.0). Also this is my bios version:
