Okay take out the cable from the graphics card.
See the end of the cable has two pins separate from the rest like this :
If you carefully slide the 2 pins against the 6 pins they should slide into a slot and become 8 pins and look like this
Gateway 970 ? You mean Gigabyte I presume.
I think the problem is that you haven't connected power to the GPU properly, for the 8 pin slot you need to get an 8 pin connector through all the slots. Can't just connect 6 and leave 2 on the side empty.
Don't know why you're referring to an EVGA...
I ordered a new gaming desktop from PC Specialist in March. Being a big fan of RPG games and the arrival of the Witcher 3 I wanted something that could handle current and upcoming titles for the next 2 years relatively comfortably.
Specs:
Processor (CPU): Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor...
How much of a difference does the the brand and model of a GPU really make on gaming performance?
For instance I've made an order and I just found out pcspecialist are currently installing the base Palit Jetstream GTX 980's (not super jetstream), which is one of the lower end 980's.
I'm not...
When ordering a custom build pc from pcspecialist, do they also send the manuals/documentation that come with the with the individual components, like motherboard, gpu etc ?
I basically want a powerful machine, capable of comfortably doing extreme gaming within a £2000 pound budget.
Thoughts and advice are appreciated.
This is the setup I'm considering -
