Oh wow! I found the fix, but is really weird! PCS support emailed me and suggested I uninstall and reinstall the Control Centre application. Just by chance, whilst Control Centre was uninstalled, I looked at the Touchpad/Mouse properties in Control Panel (as your first reply suggested), low and...
I have a new 17.3" Octane VI laptop from PCS running Windows 10 Pro x64.
I am an old fashioned user who only likes mice for pointer input. I have an MS 6000 Comfort mouse connected via USB and want to disable the built in touchpad.
I have spent many hours searching the interweb and have tried...
Well to end this thread where it started...I emailed PCS asking if they would offer a promo code for a first order from a new customer, and although they did not send me a specific code, my order miraculously reduced in price by £15 overnight. So, a little persistence and patience goes a long...
I think this just about sums it up, and so yes, I will just go ahead with my order. It'll just be my luck, I get a "promo code" after paying full price for my build!
Thanks for your reply, it is much appreciated. However, the "price challenge" is not really what I was looking for. I do believe PCS are competitive on price compared to others of an equal standard; i.e. we will always find "cheaper" for a lower standard build.

I am quite happy with my build configuration, but equally, I appreciate any help offered, so here it is:
Chassis & Display
Octane Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72%...
I am on the verge of ordering a new custom Laptop build costing in excess of £3000. I saw during the ordering process that I can add a "promo code" to ease the cost a bit. However, I have spent many hours trawling the interweb but I cannot find a valid "promo code" anywhere. Does anyone know of...
Fantastic!!! Thanks SpyderTracks. I simply swapped the the drive capacities around i.e. a 250GB NVME for the OS and a 2TB 860 EVO 2.5" SSD for storage and saved myself £200. Thanks for the advice.
Here is a new quote for a laptop I am thinking about getting from PCSpecialists:
