    PCSPECIALIST Laptop upgradability

I agree. There are a couple of the mentioned models that come with iGPUs, but most of the ones I saw around with a decent CPU option come with dGPUs because they are usually marketed for gaming. Oddly, it seems like sometimes there is a price premium to pay if you want a powerful CPU/RAM...

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop upgradability

Yikes! That sucks to learn. Personally, though, I wouldn't be so worried about games crashing here and there, as I would not be using it to play big titles. The main objective would be running DAWs like Avid Pro Tools and Ableton LIVE with as many tracks and plugins as possible in one session...

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop upgradability

Hey, I'm eyeballing some of the custom laptops available right now, and I was wondering which ones, if any, come with reasonably accesible RAM and/or M.2 slots for possible future upgrades. That's without the need of very specialized tools, or voiding the guarantee. The intended purpose of the...

PCSPECIALIST SFF PC for music production (Avid Pro Tools) and light video editing

Thanks everyone for your replies. I can see that heat dissipation may be a problem in the build originally posted. I've found this other case that will take a 240 radiator at the front, so it may be a bit more suitable to cool down and Intel CPU while maintaining a relatively small size...

PCSPECIALIST SFF PC for music production (Avid Pro Tools) and light video editing

Thanks for your reply. My decision to stick to Intel is based on my own previous experiences with AMD. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but it didn't work for me in the past, whereas my previous and present Intel-based computers have had a noticeable lower amount of errors or stability issues...

PCSPECIALIST SFF PC for music production (Avid Pro Tools) and light video editing

Thanks for your answer. I do understand what you're saying. I was hoping that limiting the CPU to its 2.1GHz base speeds and its advertised TDP of 65w would do the trick to keep the component operating relatively cool. Unfortunately, going AMD is not an option for this project. Could a bigger...

PCSPECIALIST SFF PC for music production (Avid Pro Tools) and light video editing

Hey folks, I need a relatively powerful and compact, good value for money PC mostly for music production and some video editing here and there. Here are a few comments on some of the components chosen and, below, the part list. Please check it out and let me know your opinions. Thanks! *Edit...

PCSPECIALIST Music and sound production build

Hi there, I've been looking for quite a while to get a nice PC for sound production without breaking the bank, and I came to the conclusion that my only chance would be building my own so I can just get the specs I need without overspending in other stuff (like a dedicated graphics card, as I'm...
