My understanding the sleep problem is that I might be missing S3 sleep state at bios level : But no option shows to switch from "windows mode" to "linux mode" :( (rly microsoft, breaking things even on OTHER OSes ?? -_-)

Well, TCC works as well BUT it disables manual control of the fan (fn+1). Uninstalled it as it didn't bring much value IMHO.
