hi, same happened to me after RMA! Before I was able to use throttlestop and undervolt features, now it is locked. And I've issues with BIOS too, can u tell me what kind of warning message u got when flashing the BIOS?
Thanks for your reply @SpyderTracks :)
If you've read my story above you'll have understood that I've followed all of the PCS tech's directions, and they can't figure out either the bios or the undervolt issue. Now I can no longer make any RMA and I have to keep my notebook as it is. As for the...
@SpyderTracks @ubuysa I reply to all your questions:
I already got an RMA on february 2022 (ram, performance and overheating problems). The RMA took a long time (2 months), and PCS tech made numerous changes on my notebook (cpu, mobo, ram changed, repastes etc), but after several attempts the...
whoah, actually 6 pages of post and I recognize only now that I never posted it: my fault! Here u are, anyway:
Chassis & Recoil Series Display: Widescreen 165Hz sRGB 100% LED matte QHD 15.6" (2560 x 1440)
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™ i7 11800H octa-core processor (2.3 GHz, 4.6 GHz Turbo)

Hi guys, I wonder if some of you have an issue like the following.
I can not update BIOS of my Recoil anymore :cautious:
Only version working is 1.04 (the actual one on my system). If I try to update to a new one (as latest, 1.07.A05) or revert to an old one,
the results is always the same: I...
yes, sorry...I intended the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, of course :)
However I expected something like this ... as written above, when the notebook was still in RMA, that 89 ° average value on TimeSpy worried me, even if the technicians assured me that in their benches it had never exceeded 93 °...
mhhh, I got the notebook from RMA just 2 weeks ago, it is almost brand new (they bring my HDDs on a brand new Recoil) and it already needs repasting?!
So a thermaltake kryonaut (the one that the PcSpecialist Technician applied), only lasts 2 weeks? I'm puzzled...
hi @barlew @SpyderTracks: these are the temps of my Recoil, after RMA, during 30 minutes of playing on Call of Duty Warzone.
All drivers updated, CC on Gaming Mode. Do you still think those temps are normal?
Yes I do confirm that before RMA I can use it without problems and FIVR was unlocked and I could undervolt both CPU core and cache. Now it is locked. During RMA they changed the CPU, so I guess I was lucky with the precedent one?
Hi all!
Notebook is finally back to me.
First thing I noticed is that THROTTLESTOP (latest version 9.4) now have all the FIVR Options (for CPU Core, Cache etc) on LOCKED status, and I can access it anymore, like before the RMA.
I checked on the BIOS on startup, assuming that some BIOS settings...
@SpyderTracks sorry if I bother you, but...this is the last TimeSpy 3DMark bench of my Recoil, from RMA department, with system to standard settings: if CPU 89° average is nowhere near throttling, why HWInfo monitor clearly indicates that THERE IS throttling?
(see attached file)
UPDATE: my notebook is on UK tech offices by 3 weeks and they are working on it.
The main issue detected was temps too high and the fan options were not doing anything to change it, and the system was also throttling when it was doing this.
So they replaced the motherboard, the CPU, the RAM and...
@SpyderTracks got the CAS latency of the 2666mhz module, that is 18-18-18-43. Do you still think that 32GB 3200mhz will perform better than 64GB 2666mhz, also if Latency is slightly better in the lower mhz modules? Thanks :)
CAS latency of the various models and comparison on performances?
Dunno the 266mhz model, but the 2933mhz has 19-19-19-47 while the 3200mhz has 22-22-22-53...I’ve heard that the 2666 should have lower latency so I’m not sure 3200 would be better than a 2666 with lower latency...but I’m not an...
Hi!
My Recoil 15 is currently on tech assistance for temperature and performance issues. ATM it is equipped with 64gb 2666mhz Corsair, but are probably faulty and maybe they will be substituted.
I have the option to choose:
- stay with corsair 64gb 2666 (2x32)
- go for corsair 32gb 2933mhz...
I know @Vergaro98 and I’m glad of your help and efforts with my issues and I really thank you!
Anyway I finally got one hour ago an answer from a 2nd level tech of PCS and it seems they’re taking care of my problems now. I’ll keep u informed :)
It was already installed on my notebook when I received. Before you ask it, it was not the Windows pc Specialist test OS, I bought Win 11 license in the order and when I received the notebook and first powered up I followed all the installation procedure of Windows. At the end I found CC in the tray
@SpyderTracks, and regarding performances? It is undoubtful that, considering my system specs, my performances are really low and below configurations with lower video cards and processors.
Regarding temperatures, in the first thread's page I didn't use HWinfo, you can find them in the other...
