Hi all, I can confirm a clean install of windows has fixed it (for now....). What a faff though. My WiFi wasn't detected when trying to install Windows and i had no way to get past that stage without it, so i had to dig around and find a long enough Ethernet cable to plug direct into my router...

Thanks all for your help with this. Ironically one of the updates just moved a little (its been running in the background for the last hour or so whilst i have been doing other things). Its like its toying with me?!?

Thanks for your suggestion but i have tried all of that and i still have the issue :( (i obviously didn't try the windows 10 only related options) I have seen other people have suggested re-installing windows but i don't want to do that if i can help it as i have just got everything set up how...
