I did buy a Valeon last year for rendering. I am still having trouble with the sound on that one. :)
No recent purchase though.
This new configuration is for another person who wants to use it for BIM, 2D CAD and some basic Photoshop. I'm just doing the research for them.
Hello,
I am looking to put together a laptop to be used in an architecture office.
I suspect the most computer-intensive software used will be Revit, while Photoshop may occasionally be used with some large formats.
I am looking for a good value-for-money build which doesn't sacrifice on...
Thanks for the quick reply.
I am using a set of two speakers which need to connect through both USB and audio jack.
I am not 100% sure but if I remember correctly the issue appeared when using the included speakers. I will do a check with multiple hardware.
Hello again,
I'm back after doing a clean reinstall of Windows 10 Pro with all the drivers taken from my account and installed in the right order.
The problem persists with the same frequency and regardless of what software is running.
Any more ideas? Is a hardware issue possible?
Windows seems to automatically install the best drivers it can find online for the detected hardware? I didn't do any manual configuration but if I look in device manager-> sound, video and game controllers I can find two devices: high definition audio device and nvidia high definition audio...
Hello again,
I did a fresh reinstall of Windows 10 (from USB, formatted storage drive, etc), with the latest update, and I'm using the default sound drivers.
The problem mentioned before still occurs, although less often, it seems (maybe once every 3-4 days).
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Am unlicensed Windows 10 was already installed with all necessary drivers, which I suppose was done for testing. I just added a Windows license key which I had bought previously.
Hi all,
I purchased the laptop configuration shown below two months ago and I've been having two recurring issues, which may or may not be related:
1. When doing video calls (on Zoom or MS Teams) I'm most if the time hearing crackling sounds which cannot be attributed to the...
Thanks, I'll keep it in mind about RAM speed.
From what I know the render resources get fully copied into RAM before the render begins so it's only slow in the initial phase which lasts 1-2 minutes longer. I'm not running any software off USB, everything will be installed on the internal SSD.
Many thanks for the update!
I will do most of the upgrades you mentioned here, except the RAM clock speed and the internal hard drive. The gains would be marginal for these.
Cheers!
Thanks for the quick replies.
The rendering will be CPU-based but I like the cost-effectiveness of this GPU, I may use it for VR gaming or design projects in Unreal so I think it's worth it anyway.
I'll use Windows 10 which I purchased previously. I will have additional external USB3 drives...
Hi
I'm in dire need of a cheap setup which can perform decently on architectural 3D modeling and rendering. I'm really looking to squeeze the most out of my budget, which is capped at £600.
It seems to me that an AMD version is not cost effective at this point, so what I came up is this:
Case...
