I have been looking to get a gaming PC around £1000, I am unsure about what kind of specs to go for. What I do know is I would like to go for a GTX 1070. If someone could help that would be great!

The above is a very decent spec. :)

I would be temped to add an extra case fan for £5 since the K350 only has one.

If you don't need the dvd drive you can remove that for £15 savings.

You could also save £8 by going for the Kingston DUAL RAM. It has slightly higher latency but in real terms you're unlikely to notice the difference. Plus you can get lower latency RAM when you replace it for 16gb in the future.

Thanks for the help, I am really grateful. This is the area of computers which I don't know a lot about, I don't know what kind of parts go together. Also, I have a question about how it is you know that you get free $h1t with those parts I don't see it on the build page.

Ps. with my messing about with the spec I found that the 16GB Fury is cheaper than the Kingston DUAL 16GB. What's with that?

I don't think anyone knows. It doesn't seem to make sense since it's technically slightly faster than the DUAL stuff. Likewise in other configurators the 3200MHz DDR4 RAM is a bit cheaper than the 3000MHz stuff. Perhaps PCS managed to buy a load at an advantageous price and can pass those savings on?

As for the free stuff, they are offers advertised on the banner at the top of the home page. There are quite a lot of promos / adverts there so granted you'd have to sit for a while to scroll through them all.

The free game offer is just a general Nvidia offer that most major vendors are participating in:

Nvidia and AMD quite often give away free games with their GPUs.

With the current generations of Intel desktop CPUs you need an expensive Z270/Z170 motherboard. You also want ideally an unlocked CPU (with a -k at the end e.g. 7600k)
You'll also want high end cooling, a better case with better airflow, and a better PSU.

So it's quite an expensive business. If you were buying all those things anyway (e.g. if you had a £1500 budget) then I'd normally suggest overclocking by default. But at £1000 it's probably not worth it. And in many games the performance difference might be relatively slender.

Here's what a spec like the above would look like overclocked:

Case
CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES™ 200R COMPACT GAMING CASE
Overclocked CPU
Overclocked Intel® Core™i5-7600K Quad Core (3.80GHz @ up to 4.8GHz)

ASUS® ROG STRIX Z270H GAMING: ATX, LG1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs

24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM
Power Supply
CORSAIR 650W CS SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Power Cable

Quite a price hike. Although it's not just the overclock, each of the components like the better PSU, better motherboard etc all have their own merits.

Other than overclocking, the H110M-R lacks other features, such as support for faster DDR4 RAM, M.2 slots for super fast SSDs, and various other bells and whistles. But there's very little, if any, difference between two motherboards for gaming performance if you plug the same components in them.

So is this build that you recommended balanced, and if not how much would a balanced system cost?
It is actually quite balanced.

Generally Palit or Zotac. Which exact model can vary. If there's a specific model of GTX 1070 you are very keen on you can always order the PC without the GPU and fit whatever one you want yourself. :)
