£1k video-editing PC

I'm looking for a video-editing PC without going significantly over £1000. The video editing I do is 1080p, without anything terribly complex in terms of graphical effects. I don't do much in terms of gaming: I might do the odd bit of relatively undemanding RTS stuff. I do some programming, but it's nothing involving massive compilation steps. My monitor is an unexciting 75Hz 1080p Acer thing.

This setup is configured with the Ryzen 5 3600XT; I'm planning on the Ryzen 5 5600X, but the configurator won't allow it yet. With the 5600X set and everything else the same, it comes to £1006.

I may also want to dual boot this with Linux at some point. What would be the best way to do that? Another SSD? Or a larger SSD with a partition?

Advice much appreciated!

Some minor changes. Takes you a little over 1k but well worth it IMO.

Note that the next generation of AMD chips are due out at the start of November. I think it would be worthwhile holding off as he 5600X is going to carry more grunt than the 3600XT.

So it's Ryzen 5000 ordering day, and the 1660 Super is out of stock for a couple of weeks. Great news! I'm wondering what my best bet is. I don't really want to wait another couple of weeks to place the order. I could wait that long. I could buy one separately for not a significant difference in cost and fit it myself. I could change to a 2060 or a 5600XT. What would be my best bet?

Oh, and the Fractal G case is gone as well, so I'm looking at the NZXT H511. A good bet?

As before, this will be the Ryzen 5600X, but I can't select that in the configurator yet.

The 2060 will definitely be worth it for the video editing, it’ll give you some extra oomph 👍

As for the case, the NZXT isn’t the best for airflow. Some forum members have said it gets a bit toasty in there. If you’re looking for the next best budget case, the Corsair 275R is a safe bet.
