£800 got me a very sweet BFBC2 rig - roll on Battelfield 3 (oh... and HomeFront)

I am extremely pleased with this new gaming rig. My first in 5 years and was preceeded by 2/3 years of Xbox 360 fun.

Its pretty, its fast, it has a larger side fan than my 360 slim

Only downside - it is forcing me to dust the spare room as it sucks it all in its direction.

In BFBC2 with everything on max at 1920x1080 I'm getting a solid 60fps (syncing frames which I prefer - I know it varies north of 100 without sync) - and BFBC2 looks beautfiul.

Plan is to get a 2nd card just in time for BF3
Quick question: Do I need to get any 6870 when I do that or do I need to match it more closely?

P.S. The network card needed receipting when it arrived which Ive seen mentioned elsewhere. It kind of "wants to be out of the slot" for some reason.

Its common to have to reseat cards mostly just due to them coming a bit loose in transit, not something that can really be helped short of glueing them in! Not a good idea >.<

Any 6870 *should* work. I'd try BF3 without adding a second card though, you should still be alright! Or if you can, replace the 6870 with a more powerful single card instead of using 2 in Crossfire.

Lol @ the dusting situation mate.......glad you like your new pc. Can you get pics up?! Rep waiting!

It also wont display a ring of red lights on the front of it or come up with a disc read error like the 360 (4 times in my case....with 4 different new machines)

Try BF3 without a 2nd card and if you feel you need it, I think you're able to call up PCS and buy one from them, if not they should be able to give you exact details of the one you'd need.
