13.3" Optimus V not going to sleep (Windows 8.1)

Weird problem going on with my 13.3" Optimus V here: It will not go to sleep.
I can go to shutdown and select Sleep and it will sleep just fine, however when I close the lid or press the sleep button on the keyboard it will sleep for about two seconds before waking up again...
Anyone who can enlighten me about this situation? Thanks.

Running Windows 8.1 Pro and all I did is replace the shipped HDD with an OCZ Vertex 4 SSD.

It sounds like you have an application running that can't or won't sleep. Try closing each running application at a time and seeing whether it will sleep then.

Ok, wil try that, although not very much is running: Chrome, Dropbox, Nvidia Experience, Intel HD and that's about it.
Every peripheral is disconnected already.

Weird thing though while I was doing some tests today: My Synaptic driver suddenly didn't work anymore (ie: I couldn't scroll with two fingers etc. any longer). So I re-installed that one, hit the sleep button and it stayed asleep for while. That is until I opened and closed my lid, then it woke up again...

Go into the power options, expand the Sleep section and turn off Wake Timers, see whether that helps?

Ok, here's the weird thing: If I restart the computer I can go to sleep once. Exactly once I can either press the sleep button or close the lid and it will work just fine. However when I try to do this a second time it doesn't work anymore. It goes to sleep for about 2 seconds and then wakes up again.

It has to be software then I would think. Something is waking the laptop (or preventing it idling to sleep) - you just need to figure out what. Make sure that all devices are prevented from waking the computer (look under the power management tab for each device in device manager).

Thought about that, and I followed this article:

But there seems to be absolutely nothing waking up my computer...

This has been driving me nuts for days now, but holy damn: I think I got it fixed! :D

After even trying some powershell scripts to turn off everything that would cause a laptop to wake up... It still woke up! So I figured I might take a look at the download section of the Clevo website. I re-downloaded and re-installed every single driver: touchpad, lan, intel management interface, hotkeys,... And guess what? It stays asleep now when I close the lid or push the button! :D

So I figure it might have been a missing or corrupted driver ^^

Well done. :)

For anyone still having this issue, I'm fairly certain the problem is that recently Windows Update updated the integrated GPU drivers, and that's what caused the issue. Revert back to old drivers (I used the ones that came with my laptop) and things should work fine.
