So what ram frequencies does your motherboard support? For most modern boards this will be 1600 Mhz with higher frequencies available if overclocked. The only boards which support 2133 as standard are boards for the new Intel chips.

As dogbot says, you'll need to apply an XMP or manual overclock to reach those speeds. It's easy enough to do in the bios.

ASUS® A88XM-PLUS: (M-ATX, DDR3, USB 3.0, 6Gb/s)

It does support 2133. can someone advise how to do such thing in bios ?

Yes, looks like it does support 2133 but it also depends on the CPU characteristics. What CPU is it?

4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR3 2400(O.C.)/2250(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Support AMD Memory Profile (AMP) memory
* The Max. 64GB memory capacity can be supported with DIMMs of 16GB (or above). ASUS will update QVL once the DIMMs are available on the market.
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
* Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Install a 64-bit Windows® OS when you want to install 4GB or more memory on the motherboard.

We need to check these things... all you have to do is go into your bios to the overclocking menu and there should be the memory section, in there you should be able to set an XMP to whatever value pre exists. If there aren't any setup (there should be), then you'll have to manually create some which is more complicated.

The RAM is working correctly and is running at 2132.8Mhz as the DRAM frequency is marked at 1066.4Mhz (multiply by 2 for double data rate RAM).

As said above it's working and reporting fine, the hints in the name of the memory "DUAL-DDR3 2133MHz X.M.P".. this means it runs dual channels adding up to 2133Hz, 1066.4 x2 is 2132.8 which is as close to 2133 as it can get.
