2560x1440 Monitor on Vortex II

Hi,

I purchased a Vortex II a couple years ago which I've been extremely pleased with.

I'm looking to get an external monitor at 2560x1440 resolution.

Can anyone confirm if I will be able to run the monitor at that resolution with my laptop? And what is the best connection to use?

My specs:
Vortex II: 17.3" Glossy Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-2720QM (2.20GHz) 6MB Cache
Memory (RAM) 8GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (2 x 4GB)
Graphics Card 2GB AMD® Radeon® HD 6990M - DirectX® 11 (17.3" Vortex II)

I would suggest contacting technical support for an official response. I know for my chassis (Vortex IV) it cannot support 3D external monitors and it might be the case with higher resolution monitors
