3D Vision Discussion

Hey Peeps! :)

Quick question!... More of an opinion answer creating question than a factual answer one... It's aimed more at people with experience of it... But people that havent used it can comment too... DISCUSSION!!!

Nvidia 3D Vision? Is it any good/worth getting? I'm thinking of getting it, but if it doenst change the game much, make it a better experience, I'll save myself some money by taking it of the spec list and changing to normal monitors.

Thanks, Tim :)

P.s. Whole spec is in my Sig.

EDIT: If this post isnt in the write place, sorry, but it is to do with PC Gaming.

My personal opinion is that it's a luxury you should get if you win the lottery and can put in 3+ GTX 590's or Radeon 6990's because, Looking at the benchmarks for games, as soon as you go from one screen to 3 screens, the FPS drop is immense, and what do you get for that immense FPS drop? Something you don't actually focus your eyes on, it's just at the corner of your eyes. Now I'm not saying its bad, if anything, I'd love to have it myself, but, if you can't afford a PC that can pull off 60-70 FPS at max settings with 3 monitors, then why? I'd rather have a gorgeous looking game, with a silky smooth flow and never getting any graphic lag, over having a bit of extra screen at the corner of your eyes.

I think it gives you a lot of immersion, but the edges between the monitors would irritate me, I'll wait with getting that type of setup until they've come out with 1 monitor that is as wide as 3 now :p

So in short, my opinion is; If you can afford a monster PC that smashes all benchmarks ever made, go for it, if not, stick to one monitor.

I think 3 monitors is awesome and it would sub, erge you right into the game as its basically surround vision, and along with surround sound, its awesome making it much better than any 3D, the gap also isnt much problem as long asthey are right next to each other, tbh id love a 3 monitor setup with great graphics as well

If you have the money, then absolutely go for it. You won't use it as a substitute for normal gaming but more of a toy you dip in and out of.

Alienware have released a couple like that i think, if you look on their website. Under componants - Monitors, i think. Now I know Alienware = Expensive but still they have managed to do it... Ignore the fact that my PC will have 3D in it, just answer my question; Do you think mine will be able to cope with 3 Monitors ok?

Yes GTX 580 in SLI will cope OK. I'm not going to sit here and say max graphics on 3 monitors, but it'll handle it. Remove the AA and minor stuff like that and you might be able to max the rest and stay around 50fps on high graphic games.

If you want to know how it will perform on that sec then you need to contact frnechy who has 3 1080p monitors and a very similar setup

Ive seen a few pics of his monitor setup and the graphics looked immense (and mw2 had poor pc graphics) so unless he puts himeself through the pain of 10fps then it must work fine, i plan to have a triple screen setup one i get a second 580 but they will all be 1366x768 rather than 080p

I Was thinking of 3 x 24" but then i thought, NO! Stop! why have 3 monitors which will cost the same as a 1600p 30" monitor (with infinitely better colours/ ports.)

And 6GB of vRam will be enough for 6010x1080 at around 30 FPS But then for me it gets not good enough :( (P.s with more resolution the more you need to upgrade hardware )

I now dont know what to do... I want a Multi-Screen setup, because I know it would look AWESOME, but I want it to be smooth as well. Not crap and choppy!

EDIT: What RAM would be batter gaming? This - 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P or this - 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X T1 DUAL-DDR3 2133MHz, X.M.P

I max everythin i play across 3 monitors and dont drop below 60fps, on most games like f1 2010 i get 150ish fps across 3 screens.
