3dmark06 cpu or no cpu (result) that is the question ..............

Hi Everyone, Hi Pengipete,

Im looking for some help/ideas.

Ive got a copy of 36mark06 vantage and get a blank screen on cpu tests, it runs first 2 gpu tests fine then screen goes blank eventually gives me a score of 16k for gpu but cpu is 0.

Anyone else had this issue ?

physx is installed, tried the trial version of 3d mark 11 so ran at 720p resolution and got a score of 4k so I think this ran fine, not sure how good that score is for a relatively low resolution. But yeah the cpu test seemed to work.

Q: After the graphics tests, or first CPU test I get a black screen and nothing happens. I have also read that some users get an error after the first CPU test which says "IDXGISwapChain::ResizeBuffers failed:". What could be wrong? A: This issue has been fixed in the latest benchmark build. Please verify that you have the latest version installed and update if necessary.

Thanks Gorman, I believe the latest version is 102 which is the one I have, ill check tonight, I downloaded the full version named 1.0.2 which I assume has the patch in already ? maybe not, ill re-install and then install the 102 patch and try again.

I would also make sure the drivers for your cards are all upto date etc, im betting its going to be PhysX related as it will be using the cards for the "CPU" test. Does it run ok out of SLI?

Yeah, ive def got the latest drivers from nvidia, ive seen evga have released a newer build which does not appear on nvidia website which I could d/l I spose. I think the first test I ran was sli disabled, ill try a full combo of things tonight, disabling sli, is it best to dedicate physx to auto select (which chooses card 1) or select card 2 ? or even cpu.

may have the answer, reading their faq i need to choose a preset to get 3dmark score, if i choose extreme it says 1920 x 1200 is not supported although my res is 1920 x 1080. Ill put preset to high and try that..... typical bet thats it. fingers crossed

Having SLI its really something you need to play with a bit, test different configurations. This is even more true with Physx enabled games. Try the Physx settings where you nominate a card.

As far as your Vantage scores go lets see the performance score, thats the norm.

Yep thats exactly what i would expect to see from 2 x 460's, in fact you may see PaulH posted his scores on here a while back, he managed to clock them up and push 30k.

So if you want to tweak Mafia benchmark scores i would look at your PhysX settings, apart from that Vantage glitch it looks like a very healthy system and score.
