That's as close to £2,000 I can get without compromising too much in one area or another. You need dual GTX 980 Ti's for 4K gaming, everything after that just needs to support them. An overclocked i5 should be able to keep you going as you tend to be GPU bound at that resolution rather than CPU bound (aka chuck all the money into the GPUs). You don't need 6 CPU cores or more than 8GB of RAM if this is primarily a gaming machine.

Simple solution. Get the Azure in the review section that SteveT talks about for £1499. Then use the spare £500 you have to buy a second 980ti if you think you need it after trying a bit of 4k gaming on the single 980ti the Azure comes with.

That is the best possible pc you can get for about, £2000.

Thanks for the response! So what would you recommend for a high spec 1080p rig? I'm looking for longevity more than anything here. It would primarily be used for gaming. I would think that 970SLI would be slightly overkill for 1080p, but would like to not upgrade. So for example would your setup - downgraded to 970's be more than acceptable for maxing everything in 1080?

Thanks.

If you're not fussed about 4k then get the Azure in the review section and save yourself £500. Best deal around by a mile. One powerful gpu is far more desirable than two inferior cards.

A single GTX 970 will be great for 1080p at max settings and 60 fps. I would suggest something like this:

This setup will also allow you to add an additional GTX 970 in the future if you decide to up your monitor to a 1440p display or want even higher FPS at 1080p, but 2x GTX 970s aren't powerful enough for 4K.

As a bonus, you save a boatload of money :)
