4k Vs 1440P

Which new monitor should we buy to go with our PC's containing a GTX980Ti ?

I would personally go for utmost performance on 1440, it would be sharp as hell.

If you wanted the 4k, you'd probably have to sli for decent results.

He has a Titan, and points out he gets 60hz with max settings on things like GTA5

In another post which I cant find, where someone was asking if they should go for the Titan, it was pointed out the 980TI was only 2% a difference.

Could the 980TI therefore not run most games at 4k pretty decently?
If fast fps was needed for a particular game, could we not just change that games resolution to 1080P ? (then back to 4k for other games)

One day, we might get another GPU and do SLI, and we have the 4k Monitor.

Or can we really notice 4K over 1440P regardless ?

(ive not seen either resolution in person)

It's not possible to whack everything up with grass on ultra and go into a dense (or even lightly) foliaged area and stay at 60 fps, unless perhaps you are playing at 720p.

the 980 ti can run games at 4k but for a decent experience in AAA titles you will need to remove much of the candy meaning you are often better playing at a lower resolution anyway. For current hardware id still advise 1440p over 4k unless you have more cash than you know what to do with.
