Has anyone bought a Vortex 3 with the 7970m card?

I keep putting my order off hoping the latest drivers will be better. But i hear the drivers that come with the machine are from Clevo and not AMD.

Has anyone installed the latest AMD drivers instead of the default Clevo ones? If so how did that process go? Is performance good?

I need someone to fill be with confidence so i can actually hit the complete order button.

Are AMD drivers easy to install?

Well from what I have been reading most people are Very Happy with the new drivers. I'll be ordering 7970m Crossfire after reading about the benchmarks and stability of the new driver if that helps put your mind at ease.

I've ordered the vortex elite laptop with the 7970m in crossfire. I was in a similar position, didn't know whether to go with a single gtx680m or the 7970m, but after reading lots of positive things from the new drivers then that put my mind at ease and I went ahead and ordered. I will let you know how it is once I recieve the laptop ;)

The new drivers are great, but be warned they are still in beta stage so can be a little tricky to install. Check the link below to my YouTube channel where I have uploaded some performance videos and links for the best way to install the new 12.11 drivers. Buy the 7970m card, it's amazing value for the price compared to the 680m.
