7970M Driver

Being on holiday.

Is there an *official* Radeon 79070M driver out yet? I am still using the one from the PCS Driver CD. What is everyone else using? Is the Beta driver fully working for games and stuff?

Okay I found a 7970M Driver from the Clevo website, for the Vortex3/P150EM and downloaded it. I went into Device Manager and went to Upgrade the driver by selecting the folder where I unziped the dirver to. That said that I have the latest version. (I didn't believe it) So I went into the folder and ran the setup to install the driver (It was going to install it into a new folder ATI Technologies suggesting I didn't have the actual 7970M driver). Next Next Next, it went to install and I got a Blue screen... Should I Uninstall the previous AMD driver? Can I not upgrade it? What is wrong. I just want the official driver for my card. In this one I hardly have any options in CCC compared to my desktop 5770 driver.

Hi Nipplepie,

You will need to uninstall your current AMD driver, use Driver Sweeper to remove any lingering files and install the new driver to ensure that it installs in its entirety.

As of yet there are no "official" drivers for the 7970M and 680M. We will have to make due with our makeshift 'mostly' stable drivers for now.
