A better processor or not?

Hey guys,

I've ordered this PC and its at the pre-production stage of configuration, but I can't help but wonder if a more powerful CPU would be a good idea? This PC is intended for moderate gaming.. games like Skyrm and Diablo 3 on very high settings at 1,200 x 800 reso.

I can spare maybe £100 at most if you think it's neccessary, or if it's not just say and I can stop worrying lol.

CPU will be fine,if you really want to spend another £100 I would upgrade
the graphics card, but your build is ok as it stands for what you want to do.

Okay thanks. I was starting to worry since the Bulldozer CPUs seem to have really bad reviews and I was concerned that the Phenom CPU might be kinda crappy too. I would have loved to have built an Intel based machine but damn those sandy bridges are expensive :D

Swap your first HDD for a Caviar black, faster than a green :)

Also, upgrade the PSU to the Corsair 650W one. Only £10 more, looks better, more reliable too :)

CPU is fine like Vanthus said, will be great for a long time :)

If you can, upgrade the GPU. It's not necessary though, as the 560ti is a great, capable card :)

I have a Phenom II X4 & never had a problem with it.:)
Edit. yeah, good advice from Corfate, didn't spot that.

Yeah I wanted a black one but to utilise the 6gb/s I'll need a more expensive motherbored as the standard one is only 3gb/s. I might try picking a cheaper case and seeing if your suggestions can be squeezed in without having to spend more :D

You will still get the benefit of the black with 3gb/s,having said that
the green will be fine, just not as fast.

Sorry, one last question: when you say the black version is faster, in what aspect is it faster? Is it faster at loading things or transferring data, or both? Sorry if it's a stupid question :D
