Having a sort out of my backups and drives and decided to upgrade my Acronis for the cloud backup option to cover both the desktop and the laptop , looks as though it's going to take some time, this is for the desktop (thank goodness i don't turn it off), laptoop is going to take another 2 days on top of that............

This is why broadband upload speed is as important as download speed.

My mate has a synchronous 1gig leased line for his office, but it does cost about £600/month...but then all their work is internet-based (servers, CMS, CDNs, etc. for various clients).

Well yes.... but once all my data was in the cloud its working just fine with my 2.5Mbps upload speed...

Yeah I appreciate it's just the initial main upload, once there I'll be well covered, one reason for doing it is the C drive on the laptop backs up to the D drive and at only 1TBeach, things are getting a little tight so hoping I can pick up a deal on prime day both on M.22 and also SSD

I don't backup the system drive to the cloud. There's no point really, everything on there can be recreated.
