Advice and comments on this spec please. Must be Intel spec!

Hi
Would welcome any comments on this spec. Will be using it for Photoshop/lightroom/Premiere Elements/Gopro Studio. Nothing professional, just for my leisure use. Unlikely to be using more than one program at at time. Will also be using it for Office apps and general/instensive web browing, streaming music - Tidal HiFi/Spotify.
And before you mention 'should have chosen an AMD spec', I've already sent an Intel order off for processing so can't change it (unless I cancel the finance and don't want to do that). I'm just trying to amend the order so the specs are the best for the price but it has to be an Intel.

Thanks.

If it's on finance the spec is fixed, unless you pay for changes separately.

Yes but I know I can pay for changes separately. I've amended to the above spec so just after advice is this is suitable or I can make further amendments before it goes into production.

An AMD build would be much better for the same money. I would personally cancel.

But Intel aren't obsolete? You can still purchase their latest CPU's and PC Specialists allow you to build specs with Intel CPU's. I'm aware AMD do have the edge in performance but I'm locked into this Intel spec. I currently running Adobe suite on a Zoostorm pc with a I5-4460 4 core CPU, 16GB RAM, Intel graphics and it does work perfectly apart from the odd freeze, so purchasing the latest 9th series with the above I'm sure won't be a complete disaster.

The terms 'work perfectly' and 'the odd freeze' are mutually exclusive really. :)

I think it's a tad unwise to be spending over £1500 and expecting nothing more than it not being 'a complete disaster'. I appreciate that it's your build and your money, but SpyderTracks really does know what he's talking about and I would always pay close attention to his advice. :)

Ok. I've put together this AMD spec. Comes in at £1535 which is my max but does include 3 Year gold warranty. Would appreciate advice on the case (PCS WRAITH RGB MID TOWER CASE doesn't seem to be available as an option) and also the Motherboard.

Thanks.

You want a cooler on that chip preferably so I've sacrificed some RAM, which you won't need at this level anyway. The rest is fairly similar, slightly faster storage....

Agree with Scott. Always worth noting that PCS have an open case policy, you can work on your machine without voiding the warranty, so adding stuff later is not a problem.

With that in mind when building to a budget the two easy things to cut back on are RAM and storage as these are the simplest to upgrade when funds are available, whereas the Case, CPU, GPU, PSU etc you are stuck with as they will have little sell on value.

Looks perfect to me. Any benefit in upgrading the RAM to the Vegeance PRO? It's only £16 extra.
Thanks.

As above re the RAM, I would have selected it but I was thinking that 1535 was the hard limit so thought it was maybe too far.

Hi,
Is it worth upgrading to the Ryzen 9 3900x?
I know it might be overkill for what I'm using it for but thinking about future proofing. Thanks
Yes, but not if it means sacrificing other components. The 3900x is a truly awesome chip though, would be great for your uses.

Thanks. What other components would I need to change or would it run on the existing spec? I don't want to go overboard on cost so its only if I can do with minimum changes.

As said, the only way it’s worth adding is by increasing budget, don’t sacrifice the existing spec as that’s more important as a base.

You’d need to up the cooler to the H115 platinum
