Advice on music/gaming computer

Hi pcspecialist forum,

This is my first time here so hello everyone

I have no specs but would really love your recommendations.

I record music with cubase sx3 (but want to upgrade to cubase 6) and play games like Farcry 3, Black ops and Skyrim.

I use a delta 66 sound card by m-audio, so need a pci slot.

This seems like a nice spec. I'm not familiar with Cubase but from the website recommendations the i7 should help.

You can get the non-k version of the CPU if you're not gonna overclock. If you plan to you need a better CPU cooler.

Thank you Wolvo7, I will go for a better CPU cooler just in case.

Depends on how much you want to overclock. For a small overclock I'd say the H40 and for higher the H60+. You could also consider a pre-overclocked PC if you want to go down that route, it's only £9 extra for the improved thermal paste.
