Advice please - circa £1k to £1.2k

Hi all,

Looking to buy a new gaming rig, unfortunately the TITAN is a little out of my reach/price range (£1k to £1.2k).

It needs to be designed for gaming (Battlefield 3/4, CoD's, WoW/EvE) and looking for good solid performance (BF4 as a benchmark)....

Questions at this stage: AMD over Intel? GeForce over AMD? Windows 8 64-bit vs Windows 7 64-bit?

My current spec:

Thanks in advance guys....

Unfortunately the page you linked is only accessible by you when you're logged in.

For us to be able to see your spec you need to:
Build your spec, then proceed to checkout, about 3/4 down the page underneath the "price for this system" section you will see a "post to forum" button.
Click the button and copy everything (including the unique URL it has at the bottom) over into this thread.

Personally I wouldn't want a Titan anyways, overpriced as far as I'm concerned :)
And for your budget I'd go for an Intel i5 over an AMD CPU.
The choice between Win7 and Win8 really is a personal preference, some people like Win8, some dont.

Get a gtx 780 or 780ti, much cheaper and aimed more at gamers than the titan which is more of a workstation card these days.

I would get something along the lines of this.

The i5 is the gaming cpu of choice these days, you could go for an i7 but right at this moment it would not give you any FPS increase because games don't really support hyperthreading. The 780 is a very capable card, it will handle gaming over a single screen with little problem. The SSD is a nice addition, for your OS plus most commonly used games and applications. along with the nice fast caviar black for the mass storage. I also added the slightly upgraded cooler to keep everything quiet as possible.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the screwup on my initial link.

Out of what has been said above it answers the doubts I had on my spec. I'll re-spec and post it correctly later....

Here's the spec then....kinda stretched it a little.....Haven't fully decided on Windows 8.1 Pro vs 7 Ultimate yet....I like/love 7, not enough exp on 8 to know if the support is there fopr gaming...
