If your planning on running a 470 i would beef up the psu to at least a Corsair 650, other than that its looking pretty sweet ;)

true. i was playing cod4 on intel core 2 duo 2ghz with 4gb ram, ati mobility radeon 3650 and was bit laggy (laptop). thats why i am gonna buy a desktop pc with those specs.
:) 1300gbp is fair enough

by the way, IIYAMA E2407HDS 24" WIDESCREEN, HDMI/DVI-D FULL HD 1920x1080, need dvi-d cable?

The iiyama monitors come supplied with DVI and VGA cables as standard, so you do not need to order an additional cable. :)

if your going with 4GB RAM why not go for 1600MHZ instead of 1333MHZ might be a bit better for you :)

Steve

1600MHz is faster, but 1333MHz is more stable. If you wanted 1600MHz you would have to order the M4N98TD EVO, because we only offer 1333MHz with the M4A87TD...

The M4N98TD EVO board also offers the upgrade potential to SLi, should you wish to do this in future :)

Come now, There's not much between them but in my eyes the I7 comes on top and as far as price goes, you get what you pay for! :D

I agree with Gorman here. The i7s are incredible. Just because the specs look higher on the AMD, doesn't mean its a better processor. Intel is also a better quality CPU IMO. Well worth every penny.

We offer our customers both AMD and Intel, and we try not to be biased towards either where possible. The physical cost of the processors is almost the same, but other components such as motherboards,RAM, etc may alter the overall price.

You can search Google and find discussions edging either way. In my opinion, if you're using a program that can take advantage of all 6 cores, the 1090T comes out on top, otherwise the 930 wins.

The main advantage of the 930 is that it's the entry processor on the 1366 platform, giving a huge upgrade potential, whereas the 1090T is the best AM3 processor available, so at present you can't upgrade any further.

upgrade meaning ?
well there is no program that take advantage of all 6 cores now, as far i know, but it will be in the future right ?

You can upgrade to a faster processor, for example an i7-970 or 980X, and you can also select up to 24GB of RAM, whereas on the AMD configurator you can select a maximum of 8GB.

That's not to say anything bad about the AMD configurator, I was simply trying to balance the argument.

An interesting read on multi-core support: http://itexpertvoice.com/home/multi-core-support-in-windows-7/
