Well, what are you going to be doing, if you are gaming, you won't need such a big cpu. Especially in that budget.

yes but I want it to be ' age proof ' for a good 3-4 years, and the cpu is the last thing i want to think about changing (although would if necessary)and in any case, a good cpu is never a bad thing!:)

Well, I can say that you can drop that gpu to the 1gb version unless you are going to use multiple screens or have lots of games open at once. Please could you post your whole spec, that way wr can comment a little easier!

Comment? You mean spec? Yes there is, do your spec in the configurator. Click proceed. Check it then click post to forum which is near the bottom, under the price. It is in a black box. Then copy your spec and paste it into your reply.

As before about the gpu. Don't forget the silver warranty. Also, upgrade that hdd to at least a seagate barracuda. I would also try and upgrade that mobo one notch.

would the ram be easily upgradable to a 16gb (4x4) or higher after purchase, and would this seriously boost the pc's performance?
dont expect another comment until tommorow, im shattered enough to spel tommorow wrong and i dont care.

Tomorrow is spelt like that! Ram is probably the easiest component to upgrade. Yes, as long as the mobo has enough slots it will be fine.

not too much change but has a bigger hdd and a slightly less powerful gpu
looks decent to me what do you think?

Don't forget the silver warranty! Next upgrades could be made to the psu so that another gpu can be added later. The cooler could be another thing to upgrade to the tripple
copper cooler as it is good value.

will the gpu cope with running bf3 maxed out, cos that with bad company 2, skyrim and mass effect2 have to be my favourite games (this is a gaming pc)

The 560 will struggle to run BF3 at ultra so I would suggest getting the AMD HD6950 instead as that will cope better.
