i currently hav a dell studio xps laptop, which i got about and a half years ago, its been getting a bit slow so ive decided im going to buy a desktop pc, my friend recommended me PCS so i put in my spec. If you guys could just briefly check it, it would be much appreciated. Basicallly, i will be converting to pc gaming, but even so will not be gaming in excess. But i do want a future-proof performance desktop that will last me for a long time. I'm also not sure about whether I should stick with the standard amd cpu cooler, or upgrade to the fenrir evo extreme.

Looks good to me, but the RAM seems a little overkill. 8GB is plenty these days, you could get away with 4GB easily if you needed to save money somewhere. Also, i'd recommend a 2TB Caviar Black HDD as your first HDD, fast boot times and loading (Not had any experience with those 10,000 rpm HDD's). If you wanted to keep the VELOCIRAPTOR as your first HDD for it's fast boot times as it's faster than the Caviar Black, possibly think into getting a 1/2TB Caviar green 2nd HDD for storage :) They power down when not in use, so save power.

thanks

thanks, i will definitely lower it down the 8gb model. But honestly i dont think I will use more than 600gb of space, because i currently have a 500gb HDD and i've only used about 400gb of it, and if worst comes to worst i can always install another hard drive manually. I also quite like the idea of fast loading times, but dont want to go down the SSD route though at the moment.

Fair enough :) your 10,000 600GB 1st HDD should be perfectly fine for you then :)

Have a happy new year :)

would recommend getting the bulldozer quad core, i think it should be cheaper

also get the triple copper cooler or the titan for good cpu cooling
