I really liked the way my old MacPro (the cheese grater version) had air-guides for different sections of the case and fully drilled panels front & back.

  • Processors and RAM at the bottom/coolest level
  • HDD/SSD sleds and expansion slots in middle
  • PSU and CD/DVD/BluRay bays at the top

I watched the 4000x one the other day. Wish he'd also set it up with a front radiator, be interesting how it affected things.

the old mac pro towers were a good bit of kit that was designed practically with a good amount of air flow,
