Any advice for a cheap spec?

Hi guys

My PC has been dying for a long time now so I want to replace it - but with a laptop for portability. The cost has to be as low as possible. I can get a laptop on amazon for £300 which will do a job - but ideally I'd love it to be able to play some games as well.

As a bare minimum - Football Manager... but I'd love to be able to play Total War games too (including Rome 2) if possible.

How much would I have to pay to get a laptop to play Rome 2? If it's more than £500 - what's the cheapest one I can get to run Football Manager?

Thanks for any help - I'm useless with laptops (and PCs in general to be fair :) )

For football manager the integrated gpu should be enough for more demanding games you are looking at around £699 (skyfire 14)

I have an i3 3110m with hd4000 on my lappy, and I see it's still for sale over £300, I don't think it will run Rome2 well but it might on low res and low settings, but I don't know about laptop components much. For under £500 I think you'll be looking at the HD4600 for graphics which is a bit better than my hd4000. A google search shall reveal if the HD4600 performs well with Rome2 I'm sure.

So for less than £500 I guess my gaming days are over (for now) - except for FM of course. Ok - thanks guys.

If you're looking to play Total War: Rome II for under £500 this is adequate and will actually be able to play some higher end games dairly well albeit at lower settings.

If you have a spare copy of Windows then you could remove £79 from that quote and get the much faster 850m graphics card.

You can add 60-70 quid for gtx850m which is faster than gtx760m. Also if you have available any windows you can resign from windows 8.1 -£79.
Always you can use some Linux OS. Ubuntu is quite easy.
