I'm going to order a new system around the end of October and I want feedback on the spec I have configured

I will also be upgrading to a 1440p 144hz monitor from elsewhere to use the 3070 to its full potential before anyone asks

What’s it for?

What’s your max budget?

The 3070 is overpowered for 1440p really, 3060ti would be more suitable.

By end of October there will be new GPUs, new CPU’s and possibly new motherboards also so it will all be very different.

Its for mainly gaming into the next 4-5 years with very light productivity, budget around £1250

Even the 3080 doesn't do 60fps 4k on all games, but it does perform very well at 1440p so you could really make use of a 144hz monitor. The 3070 is obviously going to be weaker than the 3080 so I feel a high refresh rate rate 1440p would be the sweet spot for that card.

I don't know where you're getting these figures from but either they're native resolution or just nonsense, not sure.

If you're looking at games like Control or RDR, these are wildcard games, they're not designed to be run at full settings, they're like modern day Crysis as in it will take years before they're fully playable at high refresh.

The 3000 series are designed to be run with DLSS, early benchmarks didn't include that so are meaningless. You need to look at subsequent benchmarks.

3060ti is being released in October.

The 3070 is more powerful than the 2080ti which is a 4k 60Hz card, ergo, the 3070 is at the minimum a 4k 60hz card.

Thanks for the info - I'm happy to be corrected (and yeah, games like RDR and Control were exactly what I was looking at). I'm sure it'll pain you to hear I've bought a 3090 but have a 1440p monitor!

In my defence, I buy for VR, specifically my Valve Index. The 2080ti wasn't able to support the full potential of the headset (at least not in the games I was trying to play), so I'm hoping for better luck with the 3080/90. I'll probably upgrade to a 4k display soon though.
