I have a slight concern with my new computer. Basically, I've been playing a couple of games, and there's been a few times the game has frozen my computer and I need to reset. But a couple of times it has done it in a game, and it freezes completely, with a constant 'ringing' sound coming from the speakers. I know games crash all the time, but this has done it with two different ones, and I'm worried it could be a significant problem in the long run. I was thinking it was to do with overheating. But the temperature seems fine, and with my cooling system etc (H80i), there should be no way it should be overheating in such a short space of time. I mean it could be a lot of things. Could even be a driver issue, but just a bit worried. Does anyone have any ideas (had same problem) what it could be (needle in a haystack I know)? And if it was an overheating issue, what can I do?! I can adjust fan settings in Corsair Link, but unless it's in quiet mode, the fans are way too noisy, either in balanced mode, or performance mode, to have them at. Is there a way of customising? I see there's a 'custom curve' but that makes no sense to me. Ironic too, as these crashes never happened on my older computer! Many thanks.

The FX-9590 is know for running hot but if you are monitoring the temps and they are fine it is likely to be something else. Have you try contacting technical support? I would try a clean installation of the gpu drivers

Yeah I'm awaiting a response to see what they say. I was thinking it could be a dodgy stick of memory, as in past I had problems with games freezing, but don't think it is as I can plays okay on the whole, it's just every now and then it does it. But still frustrating all the same. I increased my H80i fan speeds to a set rpm of over 1600, just in case it is overheating, and give it a bit more cooling, as it isn't as loud, still. Also waiting to see if ATI bring out their latest drivers soon, too. That's the thing with computers, could be anything, could even be sound drivers or an 8.1 issue, period! The latest game to do it, was FIFA 15, which is a pain as not the kind of games you wish to replay etc.

Seems to be getting worse now too. Playing FIFA again, and this time the pc just restart mid-game. Now this could be overheating. But this is getting ridiculous. This is FIFA we're talking about. Hardly a top of the range game in regards to graphics! My old computer ran games like FIFA absolutely fine, no crashes or overheating (if it is that), period. Considering sending the computer back and getting money back. Sick and tired of it. Amount of money I spent on a new rig and isn't even running the way I want it to. Could even be my Radeon 270 graphics card, it goes up to about 76 degrees playing FIFA! Complete joke. Played Dying Light and had a few crashes, but wasn't too bad. My only concern is the problem is gradually getting worse...

Hi Gelbs.
Just a thought here as I am by no means switched on at all with computers as most of these very helpful chaps are. But, I had the same issue when I was playing some games which required direct x11.
My comp would freeze and I got a loud screech / hum noise over the speakers. Only way to sort it out was by turning comp off at the plug. Once re booted up every thing ok until another episode of the same at a random time later. I turned the games down to direct x9 and it helped for most.
One game set it off almost every time I played it and that was "Sniper Elite2". I dont play it now and I dont have the issue anymore. I thought it was a prob with my GPU as I am running an old GTX 560ti. might be worth looking at your GPU ? Then again I could be talking out of my hat. Anyway hope you get it sorted, all the best.

Hi mate. Everything seems okay at moment, 'touch wood'. Might of been a FIFA issue only, not sure. I did have a freeze with FM15, may of been a one off, but PC Specialist told me to set my motherboard to a certain setting, which I did, and may of helped as had no freezes etc since. Though could be a coincidence, and not playing any other games properly at moment, other than FM15, as ones I want keep getting put back! Hopefully it's all good though!

Still been having issues with my computer, and it's being currently rebuilt. Anyone else been having problems with the same chip though? I think it could even be to do with the Bios settings and the 'C-State'. PC Specialist recommended certain settings, but it still froze during games and sometimes the Valley Benchmark test. Some others claimed to of resolved the issue by disabling all the C-State options, which was different to what PC Specialist said. Albeit, this particular person had a Gigabyte motherboard. But according to Gigabyte. there's an issue with the 9590 and it's not performing the C-State changes to specification.
