Any Improvements To be Made?

OK, So I've been contemplating a bunch of different config's for ages, at first I started going for super powerful 16GB RAM PC's, But I just can't afford to wait that long for a new PC. I've come up with this spec because its more in my price range. Is this any good at all?

PCS MAELSTROM T900 BLACK GAMING CASE
Intel® Core™i5-2400 Quad Core (3.10GHz, 6MB Cache) + HD Graphics
16GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (4 X 4GB)
1GB AMD RADEON™ HD6790 - DVI,HDMI,mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 3
FREE Total War Shogun™ 2
1TB SERIAL ATA 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 16MB CACHE (7,200rpm)
800W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU
COOLIT ECO A.L.C (ADVANCED LIQUID COOLER)

This all came to £903. Yes I was considering dropping the RAM to 8GB but I don't know, this is still in my price range and theres something about saying 'well i have 16GB RAM' that is really awesome! I've pretty much taken out all the monitor's I was going to buy, I'll just do them seperately at some point when I'm actually closer to affording it!

I think 8Gb ram is plenty enough as 16 is overkill for gaming. you could of invested in a good HDD or cpu with the saved amount :)

Right, thanks for the info. I did a similar config, made it cheaper and possibly better, all depends on your veiwpoint. I switched the proccessor to the lowest i7 on that list, gave it 16GB RAM and AMD Radeon HD5670. That caame to £910....

You really don't need 16Gb of RAM. 4Gb is enough for every game at present, you might want 8Gb so you don't have to worry in the future but 16gb really is overkill for gaming, you won't utilise even half of that.
If you're doing heavy photo and video editing then you would need 16gb but definitely not for gaming.
You want the most powerful GPU you can afford as that is where your gaming power will come from, not from RAM.

If you want a gaming rig, stick to 8GB RAM. For gaming, that is 'future proof'. If you ever need more in the future, just buy it online when it is cheaper. I'd say RAM is probably the easiest component to change yourself, I'm only confident in changing RAM and graaphics cards.

Also, you will see little benefit from switching to an i7 CPU, plus my spec also included a decent graphics card. Since you have quite a tight budget (in my opinion), I would recommend sticking to the i5-2500, 8GB RAM, and then spending the rest on the graphics card. The 6870 is going to beat the 5670 for gaming. Other people will probably post up some different specs, so just choose the one you like best. :)
