It will mainly be used for gaming, but will likely use it for some video editing too. Any advice on possible changes?

Thanks

What's your budget, and what monitor will you be gaming on?

My budget is roughly about £2000, which this is about at. For the next few months I'll be gaming on my Samsung 42" 1080p 100hz TV. I'll be investing in a smaller 4K monitor around September time.

That seems to come out about £2110.

It looks good.

The 1080 ti is somewhat excessive for 1080p 100hz but is a good fit for 4k. if you were upgrading further in the future I might have suggested getting a cheaper GPU now (e.g. RX 480) and upgrading the GPU when you get the monitor.

There might still be some merit to that suggestion if your future monitor might have freeysnc, as an AMD Vega GPU may (depending on performance once released) would be needed to take advantage of that. But if you're fairly sure you can happily get yourself a gsync screen in a few months then no worries.

I'd go with a less expensive motherboard like the Z270E. It's already pretty expensive and has a lot of features, so unless there's something specific you want that the AORUS has that the Z270E doesn't it may not be worth the extra cost. It's like £65 more, only £20 of which is clawed back via the steam voucher.

The consensus on these forums seems to be that SSHDs aren't really worth it as secondary drives. You can save £ with a regular HDD and invest that into a larger SSD.

Case (and therefore to a degree cooler) are obviously a personal choice influenced by aesthetics. The game max falcon seems like a fine case, but it is quite value end and though good for the price might be a bit lacking in a few areas. Not sure it has a front dust filter, or whether the filters it has up top and for the PSU are any good or not.

Personally I'd go with a Noctua cooler and a higher quality case like the Define R5, or Define S if a side window is required. The Define S has no 5.25" drive bay so you'd need to use an external Blu-ray drive, though that's not a problem if you're happy doing so.

If going with the Game Max Falcon, it doesn't have a rear extractor fan by default so I'd add one in, assuming PCS will fit the radiator at the top.

If going with an AIO water cooler, the H100i v2 is substantially better than the H80i and the only water cooler that's significantly better than the Noctua.

There's arguably not much point to the 750W PSU, since it would possibly be a bit close to the limit for an SLI 1080 ti setup with an OCed CPU etc. And without an SLI setup the 650W PSU is more than fine. The RM850x ought to be fine with and SLI setup, is much better quality, and quieter than the CS series.

The faster RAM is only a few £ more, so you might as well at this budget level.

You can also get the PC pre-overclocked for about £10 higher base cost I think.
Here are some tweaks based on the above:

You can drop to the CS 650 PSU if not considering SLI and you want to save £40.

I stuck with the Falcon and the AIO water cooler, but it would be easy enough to fit a different case and a Noctua cooler in the build for the same price.
