Not going to be used for gaming or any 3d software but pretty much everything else, so I still want to have hardware acceleration available. Want it to last me a while. Could go higher but obviously if I can get the same or better for cheaper I will. Any sales or offers coming up soon?

looka good, although if you are not using 3D software or playing games, you probably don't want to spend so much on the GPU, I'd put that money towards maybe a better hard drive

For me I think a 15" screen is far too small for 1080.

Nope. I mean, I could run games on it, or some sort of 3d software, but I don't need to. Had I the option to lower it without losing the advantages of the Optimus build, I would.
