Basically what I want is a laptop that will not become antiquated within a 2 year time frame.

I'm hoping to do the regular stuff e.g web surf, movies etc. and on top of that some heavy duty gaming.

I also am looking into recording some vocal and instrumental stuff using the laptop. I understand I will need to get an external soundcard to get any decent quality recordings.

Is there anything you would change with this configuration to improve it without jacking the price up too much?

(Also any people who have experience with recording music can you advise me on whether I should jump down a model to get the firewire port or would USB 3.0 suffice? Recording will be a totally new experience for me so any advice is much appreciated)

Thanks in advance
