internet games,WoW,Rift, and so on

In that case, i'd drop the overclock, it wont benefit gaming in any way, but what it will do is decrease the life of the cpu, increase heat and power output. It can also cause a fair amount of BSOD's because, why I dunno, but it does.

So i'd drop to the I5 2500 / i7 2600, I'd lower the ram to 8gig samsung, try and swap the 570 for a 580 (if you want the BEST)

Change the hDD to 1tb caviar black drive, faster and more performance based than the green. OOhh and put the ssd as drive 1, so the OS is installed on it.

last thing lower the cpu cooler, liquid cooling even though it is very good, has its risks of leaking.....I have a eco, and worry all the time incase the unthinkable happens.

oh dont forget the extra warranty for a fiver.

Hope this helps.

well the 2500 and the 2600 is great for gaming, its just the 2500 is priced better and still performs to the same gaming level as the 2600. Also whilst its mainly the GPU that takes the brunt of it and does alot of work, so to speak.

The K versions only differ to the non k versions because they are unlocked for higher overclocks, so if not overclocked its the same as a 2500.

Get the i2500k, its only a bit more and in the future the Overclocking might become a benefit for you. BSOD only happens if your OC isnt stable, there really isnt any heat issues if you have a nice cooler. CPUs can take up to 80c without a problems, heat is only a problem if it hits more than100c. Overall I say the K is worth it, better to keep all your options open then 2-3 years down the line regretting it when the cpu power from the overclock would help alot more.

what about cpu cooler i was going for a eco ?

Thats great too actual better, I mess to have missed it I thought you was going for the 3 pipe one :D.

Also not sure if you have got it or not but you should upgrade to the silver warranty, much better for just £5.

I have an eco, and to be honest I dont really think its worth the extra money, yeah its great at cooling, but that partly due to push pull setup with two akasa vipers. There is a risk of them leaking, certainly risk I would like to be aware of before buying. So keep in mind they do have a large negative point. Also if you are not overclocking there is no point opting for this cooler. If you wanted the BEST for your pc, go for the titan is your budget allows, if not the tripple copper cooler will provide good enough cooling for 19quid.

I'd stay away from overclocking, for gaming there will be no benefit.

Post up ya up to date spec,

Tom

nice spec, but i'd drop the overclock personally.

edit - switch the caviar green to a caviar black drive, will give you better performance.
