Artifacts problem

Hello, I have a GTX 670 and I have been getting artifacts on various games. The most recent game Metro Last Light it's really bad, so bad it's unplayable for me. The other games I get the problems on are Assassin's Creed 3 mainly in areas with snow, Crysis 2 and 3, no specific areas, it just happens now and then but most noticeable when A.I is in sight. It's been going on for about 5 months altogether and in that time I have tried various drivers. I have checked to see if the card is fixed in properly and not loose, it's not covered in dust either. Also with nothing open and looking at the desktop it sometimes seems to judder from the right of the screen to the left, if that makes sense. I have also tried with various HDMI cables. All the fans in the PC are working as normal

What I would like to know is if there is anything I can do do fix this or is the card faulty.

Thank you :)

You've done some good fault finding there starry, I'd suggest giving PCS a call, if you've updated the drivers and the problem is persistant on many games then it is as you say potentially a hardware fault. PCS might have some more checks you can do first.

They just been called and my PC is unbelievably but truly 2 day's out of warranty. The card is still in warranty but what I will have to do is arrange for it to be sent back to PCS then they send it onto the manufacturers which can take a few weeks for it to be fixed if they find a fault. So now I am going to decide what to do, whether to just get a new card first from somewhere then send the 'broken' one back or wait ages without being able to properly play my games with the onboard graphics.. My own fault really for not contacting them sooner, pfft.

If you have the will power, I would just send it back asap. You could look for a new card in the meantime, but I would just try and save your money - you're only going to ditch it when your other one comes back!

Some old nvidia cards are a good choice - you could pick up a 275 or 295 for not too much - only support dx10 though..

Update on this - I've just had exactly the same problem with a 670 on nvidia beta drivers in battlefield 3... It was only on the jet mission though (very early on). The ground attack part was totally unplayable.. Probably a beta driver issue... idk
