Backlit keyboard and Thunderbolt on Recoil IV laptop

Hi all,

I have a Recoil IV chassis and I have a couple of questions if someone can help?
First up, the backlit keyboard. How on earth do I turn this on? Can't figure it out and is driving me nuts.
Second - this device has a Thunderbolt 3 connection which I would like to use for connecting to a dock. The dock would connect to a 4K monitor, USB & ethernet, etc. Is this possible / does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you,

Groot

Did you order with or without windows?

For thunderbolt, it does support display output and should be fine with any thunderbolt dock, will be fine with 4k output.

A couple of suggestions:

Thank you, ST. I think I have a spare Dell dock in the office. So will try that tomorrow.

Any ideas on the backlit keyboard?

Thank you,

Groot

I've just received my Recoil IV this morning and I've been wondering the same thing. I found the thread about the Recoil II, but it's of no help - Gaming Center, as far as I can tell, does nothing. If I change a setting in EZ Switches, the setting is lost next time I open GC. And Operating Mode does nothing at all. It's not possible to select either mode and the Performance needle just sits at 0. Looking in other threads, GC is also supposed to have more than just the EZ Switches and Operating Mode, so it looks like there's something very wrong with it.

This https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...-no-longer-controls-keyboard-backlight.66170/ mentions that there have been BIOS issues, so perhaps there's something wrong with the BIOS that has cause Gaming Center to be unable to do anything. I'm going to try rebooting and looking in the BIOS. The thread also mentions reinstalling GC, but doesn't seem to include info on how that's done.

Yep, the lighting effects were turned off in the BIOS. Turning them on re-enabled everything in GC which now has all the expected options and settings are remembered after closing it.
