I think this had been expected for a while unfortunately.

The 8th Gen 8-core CPUs are likely to be out later this year from what I gather, and AMD's Ryzen 2 that's out is pretty nice, and good for keeping the pressure up on Intel too.

It looks like both Intel and Microsoft are learning lessons now. The 'Spring Creators Update' has been delayed twice now so that they can be sure it's stable before the RTM and now we see Intel holding off until they can be sure their new processors are 'secure'. It can only be good news in the longer term if Microsoft/Intel are learning that stability is more important than rushing new products/features to market...
