Good Morning

Appreciate all the volunteers here helping people out. This is my first pass of several and I'm not really as knowledgeable on CPU/ Storage / USB as I should be.

Currently I have an i7 9800x that's 8 cores at 3.8 ghz. Games I play like anno, TW3 and heavily modded KSP is the no. of cores more important or the Ghz?

NVMe ? Do these replace SSD for boot and gaming? I have 2 Samsung 870 Evo (1 boot and 1 gaming) with a 4tb SATA for backup and torrent's. Do I simply just get two NVMe now and another SATA?

USB/Thunderbolt Options is the basic enough? What sort of uses are there for the upgrade USB 3.1, Type A and PCie Card.

Would much prefer Obsidian Series 500D RGB SE Premium Mid-Tower Case, PCS used to do and I don't think I'd take the responsibility of buying it separately ands making sure all the parts fit.

Thanks again.

Hi there, good to have you on board. The 9800X was never a good gaming CPU so I'm glad that you've popped into the forum to get some help this time around. You almost fell down the same trap of opting for the extreme choice with the 10920X, which again is not a good selection.

So, starting from scratch....

Here is a link to some tips & fundamentals

We need to know the information listed, specifically:

Which monitor, I understand 4k and 60hz.... is it a TV?
What is the budget? I understand it's quite high given your choices so far, but let us know where to aim.
Is it purely for gaming? The Platform you have suggested is not aimed or suited to gaming, but it's the same platform you chose the last time. Just trying to understand the reasoning.

On the Obsidian, it is a rather large case so there should be no real concerns about things fitting (I believe it can even cater for the extra height of the RGB RAM with the cooler radiator..but am not 100%). The tech specs cover most dimensions:

Yes, yes it can.... its also very easy to clean, beautiful for airflow, and nice and easy to work in and change components.

It is however an absolute pain in the neck to keep clean of fingerprints, buy yourself a decent microfibre cloth and screen cleaner....

Did the OP come back with a budget/monitor plans? Im hoping he didnt order what he altered it to above (I notice the CPU is different to what Scott mentions so guessing there was some edits).
