Battery recharging policy

As the title states, I would like to know what is the best recharging policy.
I ordered my first serious laptop 3 weeks ago on PCS (waiting because of the 980m), and I would like to know how to extend battery's life.
When the laptop is stuck on a desktop (therefore plugged on ac dc) do you remove the battery? And when used on battery do you try to fully discharge the battery, before to charge it again? Or is it a meaningless procedure? Thank you.

Cheers

Actually this question has been asked before, see this thread: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?37474-Making-your-battery-life-last-as-long-as-possible&highlight=battery+life. I posted a useful link in there about battery charging policies, it's at http://www.batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries.

The main enemy of LiIon battery life is heat. So keep the battery as cool as you can, both when in use and when recharging, that's about all there is to it. It is not necessary to discharge and then recharge LiIon batteries (they don't suffer from battery memory).

Thank you very much.
