No, the 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU and is worth waiting for.

The only near-equivalent at the moment would be the 7950X3D, but if there's nothing but gaming on the PC it would be a waste of money.

However, there are other parts of the build that could be optimised:
  • What case are you sending in? Does it have fans/RGB itself?
  • 1000W ATX2.4 PSU is not enough for the CPU/GPU combo as the 4090 can demand double it's peak in transient spikes, so the 1200W RMx Shift would be better as it's ATX3.1 and has 12VHPWR rails to reduce the cabling the 4090 needs
  • No need for Arctic MX-4 paste as the pre-applied paste on the Corsair AIO is better - if you want an upgrade, then it would have to be self-applied Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet
  • Do you really have a need for the Crosshair Hero level of motherboard - if so, go for the newer X870E as it's cheaper - if not, the Strix X670E has almost everything (bar the included USB4/TB4 add-in card) of the Crosshair Hero
  • Without knowing your monitor, the RTX4090 might be wasted, but if you KNOW you need an RTX4090 then the Asus RTX4090 OC is £160 cheaper than the PCS default option
  • You've got a iCUE AIO, but an iCUE LINK fan kit - stick to one or the other or you'll have a mess of wires & controllers (something like the H150i iCUE Link and 3x QX120 fan kit)
