Last few days my bios has not been keeping the right time and date.
Having bought the computer around 7 years ago I am assuming the bios battery is dead.
PC Specialist overclocked the cpu for me when i bought the computer and I now believe it has reset to default values.
Im sure somewhere in my pc spec account there is a file which allows me to change it back to the oc value?
Do i just take the battery out and put the new one in, or are there steps to take before that such as saving bios settings etc?

That's right, there should be a config in your main account that you can apply.

No, that's exactly right, just get another CR32 battery, they stock them in Amazon, or even your local supermarket should have them these days. I'd recommend getting Duracell. They're not expensive.

Just put the new one in, and then adjust the BIOS as required as that will load the defaults again.

I have found the bios file in my order section. It ends in .cmo so im assuming its the right one.
Does that file contain all my bios settings or just the overcloacking the cpu part?
Anyway I've put it on a usb fat 32 stick.

so all i do now is
1) take old battery out and put new one in
2) go back into bios and update the bios from that file

is this correct?
